Holiday weekend wrap-up
Now that the tryptophan is wearing off and folks are returning to work, where some of the best blog reading is done, here's a quick update on what's been going on here over the long weekend, while most of our readers had their computers turned off and were living their real lives:
Of course, there was food -- including a couple of relatively rare downtown restaurant meals, yin and yang.
Sports? Plenty -- some live, some on the tube.
A bit of web surfing was thrown in, including both a visit to hell and some truly sublime finds.
And what's a holiday without some sweet music?
On a less festive note, we had a couple of posts about local affairs, law enforcement in particular.
And we spent some time reflecting about mortality, both human and feline.
Which brings us back to this workaday Monday, and here in Portland both a (relatively) cold snap and the beginning of the end of the wettest November on record. It's cold, but at least it's really damp.

Oh, and let's not forget the wisdom of our favorite philosopher.

Yeah, when's that global warming going to kick in?
First, the predicted hurricanes fink out on us, now we're getting snow in November. Oh, the humanity!
