Hooray for the "underdogs!" --
Kent State built a 2-0 lead by scoring a single run in each of the game's first two innings. That lead held up until the Ducks scored a pair of runs to tie the game in the eighth inning.
Then the Flashes delivered some magic.
Kent State's Derek Toadvine opened the bottom of the ninth inning with a walk, then was sacrificed to second base by Evan Campbell.
The Mid-American Conference's all-time hits leader — Jimmy Rider — then added another to his total, when he sent a 3-2 pitch into left field that chased Toadvine around for the game-winning run.

The win gives Kent State 46 wins this season, which is a new single-season school record.

Clearly, the Ducks' baseball team needs more ugly uniforms.
