Waking up
It appears that the Phoenix Suns actually have a shot at evening their playoff series with the Lakers. The Suns are ahead in the waning moments of tonight's game. If they prevail, our interest meter in the playoffs may move up to a 5, whereas just a few days ago it was at 0.
UPDATE, 8:30 p.m.: They did it. Game on, a three-game series now.

Could someone explain this:
Game 3:
Lakers: 16-20 FT
Suns: 37-42 FT
Game 4:
Lakers: 7-13 FT
Suns: 22-32 FT
If I know how to add, the Lakers in Games 3 and 4 shot 33 FT-A, while the Suns shot 74 FT-A.
I don't want to imply anything between the referees, David Stern, the networks, and the advertisers, but this disparity is noticeable considering the disparity in games 1 and 2 was: Lakers 56 FT-A; Suns 58 FT-A.
Also, I do not buy it is the more "aggressive" team in the paint getting the calls. The Lakers in both games 3 and 4 were working in the paint, but somehow those 6 hands near Bynum's face were the hallmark of defense, while Stoudemire and Nash were clearly "fouled" each time a Laker defender got within a foot of them.
Give the Suns half the number of free throws in games 3 and 4, and the Lakers would be waiting on the Celtics right now.

I wouldn't worry, the Suns have zero defense/rebounding and if they are depending on Channing Frye to drop 3s, they won't make it out of this round.
