National Blowout Association

Runaway scores, swept series -- the pro hoops playoffs sure are a dud so far this year.

The first two games of the Eastern Conference final concluded very dramatically: 2pt-, 3pt- wins on the losers' home court. Hardly "duds." The Magic missed critical free throws; an otherwise fine player made a decisive error.

This evening's outing in the Garden allowed me to prune some roses between rain showers because the Magic has determined they cannot defeat a team of warriors.

Sorry -- dud. All of it so far.

A mule can be led to water but it cannot be made to drink.

Things will improve when we get the Lakers and Celtics. After all, they've hardly ever played each other in the NBA finals before. This will only be the 12th time. We have to harken all the way back to 2008 for their last meeting.

That's like watching WWF Royal Rumble and complaining when Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant end up in the final. You knew it was going to happen, especially in a down economy. The N(f)BA is going to make wayy more money off a Laker/Celtics matchup than anything else they could have conjured up this year.

Phoenix moved the excitement meter up from a 0 to a 2 this evening.

It's okay, they'll have the finals, take a two-week vacation, and then the new season will be here.

Seriously now, does the NBA ever stop playing?
