Election follies
The guys who firebombed the McCain sign in the Sellwood neighborhood of Southeast Portland deserve some serious jail time for their vicious and dangerous act.
But while we're on the subject, isn't that waaaaaaay too big for a yard sign under Portland ordinances?

Either that or that is one of those tiny infill houses you see around town.

They should throw the book at her (and those punk kids). I am sure Fox News LIARS are having a field day with this, making it look like "Obama supporters" are responsible rather than the criminal idiots that they are.

"Making it look like "Obama supporters" are responsible"
Make it look? who do you think they support? Ron Paul?

With the hateful atmosphere surrounding elections this year in general, I wouldn't be surprised to find that the offenders weren't even registered to vote.

Isn't it possible they are McCain supporters, desperately seeking sympathy for their sputtering candidate?
Yes, they deserve jail.

Charlie, you sound like James Taranto (WSJ) and those other people who have suggested that the people shouting "terrorist!" at McCain rallies when he mentions Obama's name might actually be agent provocateurs hired by the Obama camp to drum up good press for Obama and to make a story.
Have we really gotten so cynical that we can't let a firebomber just be a firebomber?

The buttholes who did this should do time. They're even worse than the buttholes who vandalized a car in the 'Couv because it was parked in front of a house with an Obama sign.
I don't blame either candidate for the actions of disgusting people on the edges who share more in common with each other than with the candidate they claim to support.

In Marion Cty, the rule for temporary yard signs at a residence is a max of 2x2 feet. That monster is 4x8 ft. That sign is too large to be installed at most commercial properties here.

I'm was discussing this event with an Obama supporter and couldn't come up with the name of Hillary's political guru.

If I put up a McCain sign in my neighborhood, they would rape my wife, enslave my children, slaughter my cattle and sow my fields with salt.

"they"?

"... sure Fox News LIARS are having a field day with this ...."
Yeah, LIARS milked it until his 5 listeners puked out their noses. All McCain arson, all the time, means no air-time for news.

It's not as big as the "F*** the Tram" sign you were such a fan of a while back.
