What do gin-and-tonics and global warming have in common?

They both could benefit from some lime.

This has to be one of those cures with "unintended consequences". Let's stick with lemon for now.

Amen, Alan. Let's start compiling a list. Nutria, feral swine, and Asian carp all seemed to be a good idea at the time.

Always trying to "fix things" with technology: silly humans, TRICKS are for kids.

Why use science to combat global warming when we can just live in mud huts, grow our own food, and bicycle everywhere?

Enviroluddites Rule!

Al Gore didn't invent gin and tonics.

No, but he did support the legislation which made a user friendly gin & tonic possible.

I can think of about five 'scurvy' jokes...

I said doctor, is there nothing I can take
I said doctor, to relieve this bellyache

Baby-ee, you really drive me coconuts
Tell me-ee, what am I gonna do?
You put the lime in the coconut and drink them both together
Put the lime in the coconut and you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut and drink 'em all up
You put the lime in the coconut and call me in the morning

Why use science to combat global warming when we can just live in mud huts, grow our own food, and bicycle everywhere?

no way! i mean, it's not like applying technology *created* the global problems or anything. technology rules!

Enviroluddites Rule!

ahh, a comforting black and white world.

i mean, it's not like applying technology *created* the global problems or anything. technology rules!

You're right - people applying technology *created* (is that an affectation like the no caps thang?) ALL the "global problems".

If only there were no people...

...sigh

ahh, a comforting black and white world.

Why must you bring race into this?

Nutria, feral swine, and Asian carp all seemed to be a good idea at the time.

Them's some mighty tasty soundin' bad ideas there, Miss Molly.

De gustibus non est disputandum.

You're right - people applying technology *created* (is that an affectation like the no caps thang?) ALL the "global problems".

other than a spontaneous sci-fi miracle of a self-creation, there is no other way for technology to have an effect.

in other words, it's the same thing. trying to say "don't blame technology" doesn't even make sense.

If only there were no people...

...the planet would do just fine.

He who thinks he can change the weather please call me.
