This whole thing is despicable. These ranch workers are not interested in unionizing, so the UFW wants to make their employees pay for it.
I'm not surprised by the thuggish tactics from UFW, but I am surprised that Whole Foods is rolling over for their benefit.
Sometimes I wish I could find a non-union label on products.

There are many experienced professionals out here who would be more than willing to set up a secret ballot election with the approval of the parties, at no cost. The real problem is the lack of a state agricultural law like California affording the rights of these employees. The gov and legislature need to immediately address this issue.

The issue here is the UFW wants to organize the workers at the feed lot, not the ranch workers. I believe there are very few who actually work there. The UFW wants an open ballot where the worker has to tell the union thug to his face if he wants to join or not. The feedlot wants a secret ballot for obvious reasons. This is not North Korea. Tell the union to go pack sand and while you're at it tell Whole Foods to go pack watermelons.

The funny things is, isn't Whole Foods rabidly anti-union in its stores?
