Trib polls calling dead heats in state races
Macpherson and Kroger are said to be neck-and-neck, as are Brown and Metsger. My own gut is that they're right about the former, wrong about the latter -- Brown's got all the money and will probably win. (No runoffs in a partisan primary, of course.)

I had the same reaction you did to the poll. I wasn't surprised by how close the AG race is, but I was shocked that Brown and Metzger were tied. I thought Brown would win handily. Maybe she still will. . .

Is there a more vapid tv ad this year than the excruciatingly ernest Metzger piece taht bables on about nothing, mentioning in a disconnected way his senate district, eastern Oregon, renewable energy and who remembers how many other buzz words?
Vote Walker.

Ah, Jack, don't say that. Big ideas must win over big money or all hope is lost for Oregonians to ever take back their election system and control their own destiny. I'm an idealist at heart...I thought you were, too!

Vicki: We are enthusiastically behind you and hoping for the best, but this time the machine is really lined up squarely against you.

Vicki:
We're behind you too. You've got 6 votes from all our Oregon resident, legal age voters. And I've encouraged readers of my blog to support you too.

Well, that may be, Jack, but I hope to prove them wrong. With all her money, Kate should have been leading this race for months. She spent money like a drunken sailor and has nothing to show for it because her message has been flat. Every poll I've seen from the get-go has shown this to be a horse race, with Metsger holding a slight edge on name ID, particularly in the Portland metro area. With my radio ad up and running now we've seen a huge increase in visits to our web site and my Counting for Oregon plan. I look forward to celebrating with you on Tuesday!

And thank you, Mr. Fearless! I appreciate the 6 votes! Gotta run to my day job now...

Rick Metsger left a TV Reporting job years ago to run for office. He has represented his constituents well in the Mt. Hood Corridor and Welches, my home away from home. His family has a long history in this area. Rick is the one who can narrow the rural-urban divide.
