I've seen several items like this. So many that I have taken to questioning some offers that sound too good to be true. And I won't respond to a CraigsList or FreeCycle offer where an address is given in the original posting along with a request to 'not disturb the tenants'.

Last year I saw an offer of free llamas - poor health required them to get rid of their flock - come and catch one - keep the gate shut - don't disturb the tenants. Since they'd also listed a website to show pictures of the llamas, I called the number. I was ready when the man answering the phone yelled that there were no free llamas and akded him to not hang up. I told him about the posting and he had the sheriff waiting to greet the next fool who thought they could get a $500+ animal for free.

Just last week there was a posting on the Salem Craigslist that one of the 'free, take everything' listings was bogus.

With friends like these posters, one surely wouldn't need any enemies.
