Ground 'Dog Day

We've seen this movie before: Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel screws up at the end of the game, and his team loses. Kansas City gives our underdog players a thrill, but no points for Carol. Our standings remain where they were last night, but without the asterisk. We start another week of 'dognostication tomorrow.

Hey, if their kicker makes that chip shot earlier, that FG as regulation expired would've won the game. That one's not on Cassel. The INT in OT was a great play by the LB, Timmons. A compelling game to watch only because the Steelers were relying on their 2nd stringer for the first time this year. Great game by KC's defense. Lousy refereeing once again. I'm starting to pine for the replacement refs. At least they were in shape and could pass vision tests without aids.

Pittsburgh's defense won this game.

Cassel blows.

BTW, the Steelers looked like crap, with and without Big Ben.

Cassel leads the league in turnovers -- fumbles + INTs. Not doing well this year, coming back from that bad injury. Did a very good job subbing for Tom Brady when Brady's knee was blown in in Week 1, 2 years ago. Maybe a display of the Peter Principle, you're probably right there, Jack.

Too bad. The Kansas City Chiefs are a storied organization (glad to see the defense paly so well -- would've made Buck Buchanan, Bobby Bell, Willie Lanier, Curley Culp, and the crew proud.* Their superlative organization (the Hunts) did as much to force the merger of the NFL & the AFL as Joe Namath & the NY Jets (and Al Davis) did.

No matter the refs, calls still get blown.

And yes, the Steelers looked like hell. I'm glad they squeaked it out though. A cousin of mine used to play QB for them.
