Ichiro jinx continues for Yankees

The Bronx Bombers have blown a 10-game lead in the standings and are now fighting to make the playoffs. Since Ichiro arrived, the Yankees are 19-21. Before the trade, they had been 57-38.

Since Ichiro departed, the Mariners are 24-16. Before they traded him, the M's had been 42-56.

There are other possible explanations -- schedule strengths, injuries to other players -- but maybe it's a curse.

Well, let's see. The Texas Rangers made it to the World Series two years in a row, and now the Detroit Tigers are kicking everyone's butts. If the Cubs make it to the Series, then we'll know the Yankees are cursed.

The curse of the bamboo-no?

And is there any team that deserves a curse more than the Yankees?
