Streetcar Smith gets one right

This message was posted on F-book this morning by the folks trying to save the West Hayden Island bald eagles from the moneygrubbers at the Port and City of Portland:

Kudos to the Planning Commission last night for insisting that there be a Health Impact Assessment done for Hayden Island and especially to Commissioner Chris Smith for insisting that it be done before the Commission votes. It was disappointing to hear Planning Bureau staff leadership once again trying to railroad this thing through by suggesting that the commission vote before the HIA is completed.

Not all "green" Portlanders are hypocrites -- only the ones on the public payrolls.

Yeah, those corporate love puppets put the stain in *sustainability*

Chris Smith is a pretty reasonable guy, for the most part.

I have been told the Port of Portland’s engineering staff (of all stripes) is second only in size to that of ODOT. Keeping them busy and employed spending their massive income is what’s driving the constant expansion and remodeling of everything under their domain.

If the Port doesn’t spend it Legislature will raid it as they did the cash-stash the State Fire Marshall’s Office once sheltered.

Now, what was that you said about a Coal Terminal?
