Polishing the deck chairs
The Portland water bureau has some slick new web pages. You can enjoy the fruits of your hard-earned water bill here. Think of it as your virtual luxury tour bus. And ooooohh -- it's in "beta"! Sexy.
Apparently the whole city web presence is being converted over to the new look. Oh so pretty, on the surface.

I'm guessing this is the continuation of the "Portland Online Refresh" that's been in the works, and heavily touted by Ms. Buttman, last known to be at Clack Co. Remember? They had a "banner" contest and everything? This has been a 5+ year joke and a half. And an expensive one at that. All I can say is wow.

I like the way the fancy subtitle part obscures where the guy on the left has his hand so it looks like a ventriloquist act:
"Hello, I'm Administrator Dave! And, this is my Forest Buddy Randy! Say hello, Randy!"
"Hello, Randy!"

I'm surprised he didn't trot out his boy, Ty Kovatch. He went from being Randy's top hey-boy / cheerleader to high up at PWB - All with a $50K/year raise.
