Outrageously good local cocktail kicks off weekend
Concocted right here at Blog Central: a bloody Mary made with Medoyeff Vodka, distilled in Portland, and fresh tomato juice from Raymond Kuenzi Farm in Silverton. Small squeeze of lime, fresh-ground black pepper. Yikes.

Well, you did it again Jack, you just used up your Sunday morning excuse! Bloody Marys on a Friday evening? I see yard work in your future.

It just sounded good. It was. With these ingredients, the time of the day and week is irrelevant.

Kinda reminds me of my first breakfast with the new in-laws. O’Conner’s in Multnomah Village, Carl Smith, the bandleader, was working the Sunday morning shift. I’m not sure exactly what his secret was, muddled sardines and celery seed maybe, but it was oh so good. My new family had waffles and scrambles and the like, and I had five of the best bloody marys ever! I’m sure they thought of me as a colossal lush, but I knew a good thing, and so did my new wife.

What, no Tabasco? How about some cruchy celery sticks?

Yup Mr. Tee, and one of those crazy-hot pickled green beans.
