Granted, it does bring to mind deck chairs
Still, it's interesting that the O's late take on the Tri-Met office move boondoggle focuses on the furniture.

Can the new furniture become public Art? A prior $17M Trimet budget shortfall/cut seemed to line up with a $17M increase in wage/union/medical/pension funding requirements. Funny how this new remodel/ cluster also adds up to ~$17M. Is 17 the new 666?

And if you add up the $9.5 million Portland Streetcar subsidy and the $6.5 million WES subsidy...what does that add up to?
$17 million.
The TriMet management and Board have got to be the most idiotic group of people ever entrusted to manage anything more complex than a shaved ice cart. And yet they possess an outsized amount of power over tens of thousands of people each day based purely upon their name recognition to the Governor (read: how much money they paid the Governor in campaign and other contributions) and no other merit or qualification whatsoever.
