LaMarcus's body starts to give out
He's going in for hip surgery. After being played 39.6 minutes a game by Coach Nate last season, and with this year's grueling greedfest of a season pounding away at him, it's a wonder he didn't have something like this happen sooner. He is 26 years old.

He had a similar surgery done by the same surgeon on the opposite hip when he was a freshman at Texas. Hips in particular respond to targeted strengthening and stabilization exercises. Who knows if they were doing these to prevent this from happening. As I understand it, he pretty much demanded a visit to the doc in Vail for a second opinion because the Blazer doctors kept insisting that the MRI they did here wasn't showing anything.

Blazer's Edge has a new piece up on the way Greg Oden (and others) were handled, with Zig Zeigler saying mistreatment and bad judgement are basically endemic. I was encouraged when the rumors of Allen selling were going around, although it appears nothing is going to come of it. Change needs to start at the top, and we also need an owner that won't put the kibosh on getting an NHL franchise into the Rose Garden.

I hate to say it, but the Blazers play a much better game as a team when LA is warming the bench.

Even John Wayne knows you can't run a horse forever.
Tim Duncan has had a great run and is still going because Pops knows how to rest his stars along the way.
