Agreed there- great to see a very positive story. A true hero.

I saw an interview today where the almost drowning victim's Mom said he has the mind if a small child and just wanted to go see a boat. The hero's actions are captured on video, and remember this is an Oregon river in early March. Nice to see real humanity and heroism in a season where petty fools dominate our headlines. I don't know Kevin Pratt, but he is easily located on a facebook search engine (he's the only "Kevin Pratt, Portland). His glory was not gained by telling people they are un-American, making a sex tape or throwing/passing a round/cylindrical object to a particular destination. Send him a message and tell him he is appreciated.

Pretty amazing under any circumstances, but in winter... Just super!

I wholeheartedly agree!! Not too mention performing CPR until EMT arrived. He had no pulse! Great job, Mr. Pratt!

It is impossible to overstate the greatness of this story. This is what our city should be celebrating and honoring, rather than everything weird. How about Kevin Pratt for Rose Festival Grand Marshall?
