I'm fairly certain Boring, OR is named after a large family that settled there many moons ago by the name of Boring. I remember Charles Kuralt covering it on his CBS weekend morning show waaay back when. If memory serves me right, there were at one point 60 some-odd of them living in the area at one point in time.

Boring was named after W.H. Boring, an old resident of the area. Originally called the Boring Neighborhood, in 1903 renamed Boring Junction, later just Boring.
