Unsung benefit

Portland's new mandatory food composting program increases the overall level of empathy in the community.

I finally got with the program - I bought some compostable paper plates at Walmart!

Now I can just dump the whole thing in the yard bin, instead of the garbage can.

If you are a rat...
Which seems to be the primary focus of the program, benefit the rats

I thought that was urban renewal?

Will Stenchy free the rest of us from our confinement cages?

Empathy? Really? Like you all feel sorry for each other? Any disaster increases empathy.

My sympathies to all Portlanders- while visiting a friend in Portland I asked her how the recycling food process was going.
"It stinks"! She now keeps the cutsey pie slop bucket in her garage because it attracts fruit flies. Just think how it will be in the hot stinky -uh I mean -sticky summer days.

Hey, if the rats ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

“In order to examine the relative value of liberating a trapped cagemate, we tested a cohort of rats in a cagemate versus chocolate paradigm. … These results show that the value of freeing a trapped cagemate is on par with that of accessing chocolate chips.”

Much like the compost or go get drunk choice. Or something…

They blinded me with science and now I can see!
