We bring good things to life

A reader writes:

Months ago you posted the state's "unclaimed properties" list. We were on it, jumped through the hoops to file, and today were notified we get $150.02 back. $150 from Time Inc. (my husband's former employer -- not sure what that's about, really) and a whopping why-bother $0.02 from General Electric. That'll buy an Xmas present or two. . .

The internet is such a kick. Our pleasure.

And I found my mother-in-law on that list...she got about $150 also!

"Stay informed and get rich"--your new motto.

When we moved out of our first home in 1988 we later got a refund check from the phone company.
It was for 1/100 dollars. $0.01

I still have it buried in one of those places stuff is that never gets seen again. Some box or drawer to be gone through only after my death.

I suppose the check is no good now?
