More sleaze from the Oregon "lottery"
Up in Jantzen Beach, they've basically got a slot machine casino going, and when neighbors tried to get it broken up, they ran into cronyism that would make Richard Daley Sr. proud.
Between the out-of-control gambling operation called the Oregon "lottery" and the mandatory food composting in Portland, it's starting to look like the setup for an episode of "The Sopranos."

And speaking of crooks?...Ellis McCoy has just been charged with fraud.
He only took $124k in cash for 7 years. Seems pretty small time compared to the bigger fish like Homer and GED.

Gambling addiction permeates Oregon society..or what's left of it. Figured we were toast when a casino became the biggest tourist attraction in our state years back replacing Multnomah Falls.
