Goldschmidt Party nightmare continues for Nurse Amanda

Portland City council challenger Mary Nolan cheerily announced this morning that she's cracked the $100,000 mark in campaign fundraising. $500 from a Beam guy, $1,000 from a Grubb & Ellis guy, $2,000 from Katy Durant -- the crushing of incumbent Amanda Fritz by the Usual Suspects is going to be spectacular.

And Nurse Amanda doesn't seem much interested in fighting fire with fire.

Wow, that's a graphic design nightmare. And she signs campaign communications as "Nolan"? Sheesh.

So "Mr. Paypal" is Mary's most common contributor? While the amount totals are small, this certainly looks like an opening to hide the identity of some bigger money donors, should they so wish.

It would be nice if the electorate reacted to the Nolan cash avalanche in a fashion similar to that of the Potter supporters with the Francesconi cash avalanche.

Sadly, I doubt it will happen. No enough folks are paying attention.

Though no de jure corporate entity is involved here - "Neil's Hangers On, Inc." is not incorporated - this is a parallel to the Costco / Safeway attempt to buy the Washington 1183 inititive, and of the same ilk as the Citizens Untied group.

Democracy in the US is dead, crushed under a torrent of cash.

So "Mr. Paypal" is Mary's most common contributor?

No, look more carefully. The Paypal entries are expenditures, not contributions.

They're also tiny.

"grassroots" bwahahahaha

That's rich, isn't it?

"we'll always welcome your ideas" bwahahahaha

Looking at this thing for the contributors, who the heck are (in order of donation size):
Doctors for Healthy Communities (5493)
Coalition for a Healthy Oregon (4749)
Douglas County Physicians PAC (12848)
Oregon Health Care Association PAC (275)
These are about $30K worth of contributions.

Then you get:
Oregon Climate PAC (12844)
Oregonians for Healthy Communities (14794)
Oregon Forest Industries Council Political Action Committee (154)
Coalition for a Healthy Oregon (4749)
Dentists of Oregon PAC (54)
Oregon Forest Industries Council Political Action Committee (154)

Seems like a lot of doctors and tree huggers want rep on the City Council?

Forget previous comment, all those donations were from 2009 when she was probably running for state office or something.

You're right, thought there are a lot of property types on the list. I didn't see any Goodmans though.

"The Don" gave $150??? What's up with that?
Any body he is for...I am agin!
