Revise this

The stronger of the two co-chairs of the Portland city charter revision commission just switched her day job.

She will now be working for the Housing Authority of Portland...that should soon corrupt her.

We've been meaning to do some due diligence about that outfit. It's a municipal corporation of some sort, been around for 60 years or more. Seems like another pot of poorly supervised public money sloshing around somewhere.

So is Yap being bought off in exchange for not pressing meaningful change to the Portland charter? Public housing -- that's the Fish's bailiwick.

Her new gig pays north of 100 grand.

It never ends. Keep at it Jack. It's time for "americanselect" at a local level. Where do I sign up?

do some digging...the housing authority...now called something else more "bureaucratic", is a real can of large worms! It may even be a snake pit. Be careful!

Not a chance--that would go against the Planners Code of Ethics.

Ms. Yap seems to have PO'd the folks in charge in Damascus in short order. Nothing wrong with that.

Yap is a poster child for the "planner" complaints that we frequently have. Do people not know this? The Damascus job was a job, and she wanted to airdrop "planning" onto the city. Resident opposition was an inconvenient truth.
