We've been meaning to do some due diligence about that outfit. It's a municipal corporation of some sort, been around for 60 years or more. Seems like another pot of poorly supervised public money sloshing around somewhere.
So is Yap being bought off in exchange for not pressing meaningful change to the Portland charter? Public housing -- that's the Fish's bailiwick.
do some digging...the housing authority...now called something else more "bureaucratic", is a real can of large worms! It may even be a snake pit. Be careful!
Yap is a poster child for the "planner" complaints that we frequently have. Do people not know this? The Damascus job was a job, and she wanted to airdrop "planning" onto the city. Resident opposition was an inconvenient truth.

She will now be working for the Housing Authority of Portland...that should soon corrupt her.

Not a chance--that would go against the Planners Code of Ethics.
Ms. Yap seems to have PO'd the folks in charge in Damascus in short order. Nothing wrong with that.
