It makes the loss of the Beavers even more maddening. We're growing some real baseball contenders with a built-in fan base in our state's high schools and colleges, which could be the foundation for a Major League franchise sometime in the distant future. But we just let go of the one professional baseball outlet that could groom them for the Majors so that a private businessman (if spending your allowance from Dad can be considered a business) can pursue his soccer dreams.
This morning on MAX, as we passed PGE park, I overheard some people commenting that the new construction is going to block one's view of the baseball games from the sidewalk. I didn't have the heart to tell them that baseball isn't coming back to PGE Park.
I'll be heading to 7 games at that crappy little ballpark in Keizer (one for each NW League opponent). I'll be sure to invite you along for at least one, Mr. Bogdanski.

Friends tell me it's well run and a good family outing with some great baseaball. Great baseball food w/o Mariners prices.
