Another multi-modal encounter

Car prevails over bike, even with Detlef Schrempf as the cyclist. [Via the Hall of Famer.]

UPDATE, 9/21, 12:11 a.m.: Then there's this one, in which a train wins over a two-wheeler. And in Milwaukie, no less -- soon to be a light rail location, if the Tri-Met dudes have their way.

I would have a very difficult time living with myself if I collided with a cyclist, leaving the rider seriously injured or dead. My heart goes out to the Amtrack engineer, the cyclist's loved ones and our community. But this crash was clearly avoidable if the cyclist had obeyed the traffic signals. This disrespect will leave many damaged for years to come.
