Doesn't add up
Here's one that sure doesn't look right. The Oregon Department of Justice is investigating a company controlled by John Kitzhaber's significant other, on which company's board Kitzhaber himself sat for many recent years -- but the state attorney general is out on the campaign trail stumping for Kitz? BlueOregon informed us on Thursday:
As Attorney General John Kroger told a group of volunteer canvassers Saturday before heading out to talk to voters about John’s stances on everything from economic recovery to education funding, "The other side isn’t going to have a grassroots effort because they don’t believe in grassroots support. They believe in raising a lot of money from huge corporations."Nope, doesn't look right at all.

An AG who's in the tank and campaigning for a subject close to an investigation. Smells like 5 day old fish...but I'm sure we'll get a well PR'd explanation. Yah...that's what we want for the next 8 years.

Before you pass judgment, is he talking Dudley or Kitzhaber:
"The other side isn’t going to have a grassroots effort because they don’t believe in grassroots support. They believe in raising a lot of money from huge corporations."

is he talking Dudley or Kitzhaber
It's not what he's "talking," it's that he's campaigning for Kitzhaber. No matter what the particular topic.

The problems posed by a significant other relationship seems often to pose a problem to the state. In Multnomah County, it was addressed in 2002, at least in the land use codes:
§ 37.0780 EX PARTE CONTACT, CONFLICT OF INTEREST AND BIAS.
The following rules shall govern any challenges to a decision maker's participation in a quasi-judicial or legislative action:
.....
(B) Conflict of interest. Whenever a decision maker, or any member of a decision maker's immediate family or household [emphasis mine], has a financial interest in the outcome of a particular quasi-judicial or legislative matter, that decision maker shall not participate in the deliberation or decision on that matter .

It's not what he's "talking,"
I was implying his description fits either candidate. Kitz gets a lot of financing from special interest groups also.
