Will Juwan go over to the dark side?
I wouldn't blame Juwan Howard if he called it good after one year in Portland. Blazer management is in pieces at the moment, and Coach Nate may be walking the plank pretty soon. It's not exactly an inviting atmosphere for a free agent.
But would he really go over to the Miami Heat, which is about to become the Lakers of the East in terms of arrogance and general despicability?
Hey, at this stage in his life, I'm sure money talks. But when Greg Oden's legs give out again -- probably sometime between Halloween and Christmas -- we're going to wish we still had Howard around. His departure could be a seriously bad omen.
Meanwhile, Travis Outlaw descends into the pro basketball inferno known as the New Jersey Nets. Perfect.

How is Miami going to be able to afford anything other than rookies, former D-League players and free agents all working for NBA minimum?
They had to give away Michael Beasley because he had a $4.96M salary for this season. Then, they offered Mike Miller $6M a year for five years. Even with the cap going up slightly, it doesn't look like they have any real dollars to offer someone with Howard's skills.

Juwan is going to leave and Greg, as nice of a guy as he is, has no legs.
35 million for Outlaw? Why that should be outlawed...lol
Jack, I think you're right, Nate's head is on the block.
A play off berth in 2011 for the Blazers?
Call me crazy Jack, it could happen and Christmas comes too!

They'll probably make the playoffs, and go out in the first round. Yawn.

I predict Greg Oden will be out for the season before the 10th game, if not as a result of an injury in practice.

Howard has made 125 Mil in his career. He can play for a ring for cheap.

I believe both Juwan and Andre Miller have never played for teams that have gotten out of the first round of the play-offs. I loved having both on the Blazers, but I could understand that Juwan wants to play for a championship, and he's nearing the end of his career. He could sign for some sort of minimum - and hey, it's still a million or two a year.

Juwan is the wealthiest guy on the team, top 10 in the NBA in career earnings. Almost $150 million in his career. Does that mean he is more likely to stay or go?
