Reader poll: Rate-a-Nate at season's end
It's been a while since we ran a reader poll asking for feedback on the performance of Blazers head coach Nate McMillan. With the season ending and the playoffs looming, it's time to check in with readers once again on this subject. Two months ago, Nate received a reader rating of 6.4 on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best and 1 the worst. Four months ago, it was only 4.9; at the start of the season, it was 5.4.
Blazer watchers, please weigh in:
UPDATE, 12:36 p.m.: With our first 93 votes in, Nate's averaging a 7.3 -- by far his best showing of the season.

With Roy in the game, I rate him about a 3. Lots of standing around and usually terrible defense.
With Roy out of the game, I rate him around an 8. Much better ball movement and much better switching on defense.

I agree with hilsy. The offense gets stagnant when Roy has the ball and then gets double teamed. I don't know why they don't run him off multiple screens with Miller handling the ball.
Gotta give Nate credit for keeping the team up and motivated during all the injury adversity (though I'd bed Juwan Howard had a lot to do with that, too). The Blazers have played great the past six weeks, but since acquiring Camby, the team may have the best starting five in the league.
On the downside, Nate fiddled around with the point guard situation at the start of the season when it should have been obvious that Miller is the guy.

Note to the Blazers announcers: You guys are embarrassing homers. At least Tommy Heinsohn has the excuse of being old.
Portland has the best crowd in the league, it should be fun to watch their home games. Get this city a real announcing crew. Seriously.
