No-brainer
Let's see... We can watch the Blazers on ESPN with national announcers, or we can watch it on local cable with a 10-second delay and listen to homers recite statistics and question every officials' call...

Seven assists tonight, matching the all-time franchise low, made watching any broadcast painful.

Hard to get assists when you can't score, but even so it was terrible. Particularly the interior defense. Camby's probably wondering what hit him. Defensively, this is probably the most poorly coached team he's played on in a while. He'll be finding opposing players coming out of nowhere and popping up right at the hoop, all the time. He won't be able to keep up with all the traffic.
I've come to the conclusion that Nate is weak in coaching his big men. He needs help in that department.
Roy still looks hurt. He'll miss more games before this nightmare campaign is over.

Mike Barrett and Mike Rice complaining about nearly every call is almost a sport in itself. I especially enjoy listening to Barrett complain that players on the other team complain to the refs too much.

Just a sorry, sorry game in almost every respect. It didn't help that Ray Allen was on fire last night.

I like Barret and Rice. They are homers, but I've gotten used to them.
Barett gives nice background on the daily struggles of an NBA season (travelling, being emotionally drained, etc.) Rice's idiocy is part of his charm.
I think they're good. We could do much worse - you ever try to watch a Ducks game announced by Joe Giansante? That guy is HORRIBLE.
I'm thankful to have some decent Homers broadcasting the Blazers.

Not necessarily last night, but generally, the complaining about the calls gets old, but what kills me is Barrett b*tching and moaning about the travel schedule. So the Blazers have a back to back and won't get in to the hotel until 3 a.m. You’re a team of professionals. Deal with it and call the game.

i know mike barrett although a nice guy is not the most exciting tv play by play man in the league.its funny when a team wins 2 in a row in back to back games you dont get the same old tired excuse that fatigue was why they lost the second game in the second night of back to back games.it seems like the blazers want their announcers to be so dang positive all the time and only criticize the refs and the other team and never call the blazers out the same for their lack of passion, hunger and desire.

The Celts contest with LeBron next Thursday will be available on ESPN.

Actually, the Celts v. Cavs next Thurs will be available on TNT at 5PT. While it is true the Laker team the Celts beat by a point on LA's court last week was Kobe-less, the ancients who have suffered injuries this year do appear to be gathering strength for the second season. Thurs's contest will suggest whether Celtics fans have any cause for hope.
