Dad loves his work

A concerned reader writes:

I don't know if you saw this story, but one quote in it sticks out for me:

House Speaker Dave Hunt: "I have a 10-year-old and a 14-year-old, so I know what whining is."

Can you imagine being one of Mr. Hunt's kids and reading this in the newspaper? It's degrading and in poor taste. If Mr. Hunt is representative of the character of our legislative leadership, it's no wonder that they accomplish so little year after year.

It's especially troubling since the dad in question wheels the kids out year after year as a prop on his mass-mailing political holiday card. Pretty bad.

But what if this is not about politics...
maybe he has raised two whiners!
(who is to blame for that?)..and should others suffer?

Oh gimme a break--and Hunt, too. All kids whine, especially the 14-year-old variety.

+1 Gil. I've got two kids whom I tell constantly, "I'm sorry, what's that? I don't understand whine." or "When you whine for something, you won't get it, even if I was inclined to give it to you before."

Kids whine. Parents refer to said phenomenon. Not a big deal.
