So what's the deal with Minnis?
It's been two weeks since the governor and the state attorney general made John Minnis disappear from his gig as the state's top police training official. How long will he be on the out's before we finally hear what suspected crimes he's being investigated for?

From Willamette Week:
Although John Minnis is no Tiger Woods, the secrecy around why Gov. Ted Kulongoski demanded Minnis’ immediate resignation last week as director of the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training is nearly as great. Four sources tell Murmurs the issue that cost Minnis his $120,000 job is the alleged sexual harassment and possible sexual assault of a female subordinate, which is currently the subject of a criminal investigation by the Oregon Department of Justice. Neither Minnis nor his wife, former Oregon House Speaker Karen Minnis, could be reached for comment.

Old cop axiom: (The "G" rated version) "The badge will get you girls, and the girls will get your badge." I was told this in 1980, by my first Field Training Officer, after the academy
Funny, in discussing this with another retired officer the day the news broke about Minnis, I speculated it was female trouble.
He signed my retirement certificate from DPSST. I thought he was smarter than this.
Happily retired, *with* my badge.

Just posted on OregonLive:
John Minnis, who resigned Nov. 23 as director of the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, is being investigated for "allegations of inappropriate interactions" between him and a subordinate at the agency.
A letter from Gov. Ted Kulongoski's chief of staff to Minnis confirms earlier rumors that the agency head had been somehow involved with a subordinate. The letter, released in response to a public records request from The Oregonian, does not name the subordinate nor offer any details.
The letter technically puts Minnis on administrative leave pending a criminal investigation by the state attorney general's office. He resigned instead. The investigation is pending.

Boy, you just don't get much for a $100K/yr job in the state of Oregon do you? Ted's a genius.
Of course, Sam Adams' situation is totally different.
