An outfit that has been planning a geothermal energy project in Central Oregon has thrown in the towel on another similar project in northern California -- reportedly because their processes may be increasing earthquake hazards.

I watched a documentary about geothermal power and there was a town in Europe (don't recall where) that had a company try and put in a new generation plant. Long and short of it, big part of the town was destroyed due to an earthquake directly linked to the plant.
Geothermal should only be done in areas with no population and probably not even then.
