It has "linchpin" written all over it
Just in time for the worst travel market in decades, Tucson is going to build a convention center hotel. LEED silver, people! And brought to you by Turner Construction. Along with 55,000 more square feet on their convention center itself. The current liars' budget: $240 million.

The best part is that the hotel is going to whisper nice things about the convention center all the time. Says so right here:
"On the Boards: Tuscon headquarters hotel
DLR Group designs 525-room hotel to compliment the Tucson Convention Center"

Oh.my.god, it gets worse:
“During the public hearings for the hotel, residents said they wanted to make the project authentic to Tucson,” DLR Group design leader Gary Worthy said. “The design intent is to draw inspiration from the surrounding desert, by incorporating the essence of the desert: rock, water and light.”
The essence of the desert: extreme water scarcity and rapid death for all species not specifically adapted to withstand scorching heat, freezing nights, and sand-blasting winds.

That's the financing.

So...what's 'authentic' for Portland?
Rain, gray days, mossy rocks and banana slugs in the form of Sam, Randy and the rest of the crooks and liars.
Watch your step!
