$2.38 Million = 238,000,000 pennies
Modern penny weighs 2.5g so
238,000,000 * 2.5g = 595,000 kg or about 1,311,750 lbs
Volume of a penny is 360 mm3
238,000,000 * 360 mm3 = 85.68 m3 or about 3026 cubic feet; provided the pennies are stacked neatly
ouch

I have around 3 gallons of pennies saved up over 23 years.
I keep thinking I'll figure out a way to check them all for rarity and value but how???

Anthony, that's presuming that the payments are going to be made in cash. A while back, several pains in the a** of whom I am still incredibly fond suggested overpaying bills they detested by one or two cents: the idea was that the time and effort to book those overpayments cost the company more than the overpayment was worth. It was a great idea...in 1987, when you probably still had a human bookkeeper on board. Today, though, it's just silly.

they’re asking former users of Pirate Bay to pay the $2.3 million dollar fine – in individual kronar payments.
Former? As of tonight the site is still up and running.
