Rare good news

Apparently the federal deficit picture is improving. This should also help.

I am not so sure that requiring cabinet officials to pay their income taxes is such a good idea. This could eliminate lots of talented people from holding public office. Portland is a leading light in teaching the nation that when it comes to our leaders: nobody's perfect.
