But then, his hip is only eleven.

Man--the mention of Journey brings back the High School memories.

If this is a recent photo, rock on!

This former house band @ the Alpen Glow on east 14th in San Leandro, certainly was part of the musical magic that was growing up in the East Bay Greasy side of the Bay Area in the 60's/70's.
Thanks for the memory.

Where has he disappeared to ????

After Steve left, Journey hired another singer from Puerto Rico whom they found off the Internet. The new kid has quite a voice himself.

Actually Bill, after the acrimonious split, Journey hired another Italian singer named Steve. They came to Portland with that guy a few years back. I couldn't go on principle.

More recently, they have a Filipino singer who so awesomely captures the heyday of Journey.

My first concert was Journey at a "Day on the Green" As I often say, if Jesus had come back in the 80's, Journey still woulda headlined and Jesus woulda opened at the Oakland Coliseum.

ah, happy memories

The new singer is quite amazing as impressionists go, isn't he? Cover/tribute bands have turned out at least one other lead singer...I think it was for Judas Priest.
This was even made into a movie with Jennifer Aniston called Rock Star.
The scene that's almost identical to the movie is when the original band contacts the singer and at first he doesn't believe it's real - he thinks it's a hoax. Then, next thing you know he's touring the world with Journey. Of course the cassette tape has been upgraded to the video on the Internet.

This 26 y/o went to see Journey at the Clark County Amphitheater in September. Mom was confused.

More recently, they have a Filipino singer who so awesomely captures the heyday of Journey.

They found him on YouTube, hired him to be the lead singer on tour, then had to coax him to stay on the tour because he was terribly depressed about the impact it was having on his life.

Here's the story.

He looks a lot better since he cut all that stringy hair off. Actually he looks damned good, considering the mileage.

This is the look of a man who knows he could have spent his life framing houses in Fresno, but ended up very rich and famous instead.

He had great pipes. Maybe he still does. Bless his heart.
