I will miss Nick as a local government watchdog. I believe he was the one who brought to light the probation supervisor that stole that hippy lettuce from the evidence room to smoke up at his Christmas party as well as that corrections officer that bragged on a message board about beating up inmates. In addition, he was well researched and thorough in his reporting on all issues.
It takes a certain acumen to perform the type of reporting Nick did, I will miss his articles.
... make that two guys, an old eMachines desktop, and a copy of QuarkXPress 4.4.
At least until they go back to Linotype.
It's probably very quiet over at the Trib newsroom. Such a pity. We could have had a newspaper competition, instead, we had something that came on strong and never had the nerve to get big.
If Seattle can't support two papers, what makes Portland think they can....
"Jan. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Hearst Corp. is seeking a buyer for its Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper within 60 days as circulation and advertising revenue decline. "
