At least Vera v2.0 is still treating the citizens of this city as embryonic thinkers that are unable to grasp the fine "urban" planning exemplified with abatements and renewal monies.
As always, you cannot have good without bad and the good typically defines what is bad.
This is pure malfeasance.
There's no legitimate reason for this type of government and tax dollar involvement.
The only way this kind of policy even exists if from government mission creep and too many bureaucrats dreaming up ways to expand it's role.
Every office and bureaucrat involved with anything like this should be truncated.
