I'll never understand why Dwight decided to walk away from the Tribune now, especially if Blazermania could be heading for an all-time high, as he suggests.
As far as teams falling in place in a hurry, I seem to remember the championship season was also Jack Ramsey's first year although I defer to the experts.
The thing I really disagree with is the idea that Blazermania could go much higher than it was just because more games are on TV. I think listening on the radio can be a very intense way to follow a team especially with Bill Shonely in his prime. I can't imagine it getting much more intense than when the Clyde-era Blazers made it to the Finals.
I got on a city bus one day and everybody was talking about it together like they were close friends.

My prediction: This is the year that the current Old Guard will fade, and the Blazers will win the whole thing. Especially if we get past those damn Lakers.
