Try to set the night on fire

Congratulations to Portland uber-blogger Betsy Richter, whose talk --"How to get people to do what you want them to do..." -- has been selected as one of 13 for the upcoming Ignite Portland 4 event at the Baghdad Theater. There were more than 50 entries, and so it's cool to make the cut.

We haven't heard about this program until now, but it sounds like a blast:

If you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers.
Good luck to Betsy at the big show.

At the risk of making the line EVEN LONGER to get in, I highly recommend going to Ignite. Went to the 2nd one and it was a hoot. Hopefully they've tighted up the show a bit, as it was sloppily run, but I'm sure they've ironed out those kinks by now.

Actually, they've really streamlined the process - you'll be able to get tickets (free) shortly; I highly encourage that you do so (check the Ignite Portland site for details or follow @igniteportland on Twitter).

My children tell me that I'm a total fraud, by the way - I'm just hoping that the inevitable crash and burn is relatively painless!
