More on our puzzle: The minus was indeed about the tide on Monday morning. The old treasurer was not Bob Straub, but this fellow, after whom this place is named. The Henry Gibson in question was this guy, who had a poem entitled "The Pelican" -- namesake of this brew pub. Clue No. 4 clinched it for this reader.
