Two ringy-dingies

We've now received two reports of a robot telephone survey that asks Portlanders about Adams-vs.-Dozono -- a serious race -- and Randy Leonard, who has no opposition with any hope. Here's how it sounded to one reader (mp3 file).

So who commissioned this thing, and why? If it isn't Fireman Randy himself, who's paying for this?

My nickel's on Randy. Anyone who gets a robo-call should check their caller ID and it would be a good starting point.

Where else would he be spending those untold thousands he's collecting via his "Friends"?

Maybe Sho or Sam want to figure out how much they should offer Randy for his endorsement. In order to figure out the value of his endorsement, they'd want to know the % of people who say that they'll be voting for Randy, and whose vote for mayor is still undecided.

Dave J.,

That's possible.

My take is that Randy's trying to determine who's most likely to win and then offer his help to that candidate.

I dunno, just seems like Randy.

Quid pro quo est agnosco.

Volo vos pacis.

Vos es sic plenus of fimus cc.

I was more concerned about lassie barking at the beginning, but it didn't sound like Timmy or a well. I could be wrong, but it sounded a lot like "Tram" and "Money Pit"
