Art college may ace out public market for federal building

The latest in the battle of the chi-chi is recounted here.

I like the idea of the Cesar Chaves Public Market being built on the East Side. It could be along the new east side street car alignment, near where the street car and the new MAX to Milwaukie will meet up by OMSI.

Hm, according the story, it's the "Collage" of Art. Given the context, that typo may very well go on my list of keepers.

For posterity: "The Pacific Northwest Collage of Art is sidestepping a city process to redevelop a historic federal building on the North Park Blocks by applying directly for it."

More typos:

"The PNCA had told the PDC is might apply for the building directly..."

"?Given the many benefits..."

"The PNCA could finance part of the work by using some a $15 million gift..."

It's almost as bad as a typical PNCA student's artist statement.

According to my rabbit ears, some of the public market supporters acknowledge an inability to find enough money for that project.
