More on the meteorite

Why doesn't the Grande Ronde tribe simply purchase the meteorite fragment from this guy?? After all, they have plenty of dough from their casino, don't they?? If it's really a sacred object to them, you'd think money would be no object. Methinks, perhaps the rock is not so sacred after all.
