In the spirit of fairness and equality for all, local Democrats running their local school board attempted to get all graduates designated as valedictorians.

After meeting strong oppostion from student, parents and talk radio board members backed off and released a statement saying the timing was not right and that opponent were bigots.

Pope Urges Young to Care for Planet, By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS, September 2, 2007.

LORETO, Italy (AP) -- Pope Benedict XVI urged hundreds of thousands of young Catholics on Sunday to take better care of the planet, saying the world's water supply needs to be preserved and shared to avoid conflicts.

Benedict offered a very eco-friendly message during an open-air Mass on the final day of a weekend religious youth rally ....

"The lawsuit said Brewer would not give Corder her diploma until she included a sentence saying, "I realize that, had I asked ahead of time, I would not have been allowed to say what I did." Corder received her diploma after complying."

Would have been funnier had she received her diploma only after writing "I realize that, had I asked ahead of time, I would not have been allowed to say what I did." 1000 times on a blackboard.
