Rick Scrotum is someone W would have muscled into the job two years ago. I can't imagine that today they will seriously move his name forward unless, and only unless, he is used much like a sacrifice fly to move home someone nearly as conservative but less controversial.

Two words: "Recess Appointment".
I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't put it past these guys to just skip the whole confirmation process, or put on one for show then appoint the guy they really want while Congress is out of town.
