This one's gonna be fun

Kate Brown vs. Vicki Walker for Oregon Secretary of State. The Old Boys hate Vicki -- hate her for outing you-know-who, and for daring to ask questions about the Scams of Saif, the Almighty OHSU, etc. They'll die if she wins a statewide race. But Fireman Randy and Opie are in her camp already.

Here's a move that an alert reader predicts: Bill Bradbury will be persuaded to retire from the job early, and Teddy K. will put Kate in there so that she can run as an incumbent, Youlee You-style. Ooooo, that would be nasty, wouldn't it? But so typical.

Somehow we've got to get Bernie into this picture. Let the games begin -- meeeeee-ow!

C'mon, Jack, don't leave us hanging... you gotta tell us what you think of the hated "Opie" endorsing your beloved Vicki Walker. That's just too much fun to skip.

It's also worth noting that Kulongoski's first chief-of-staff, Peter Bragdon, endorsed Vicki Walker already, too. (Despite hosting a fundraiser for her Republican opponent in 2006.)

Some odd bedfellows all around.

[And full disclosure: I built Kate Brown's website, but I speak only for myself.]

It's odd. Maybe Vicki and The Boys have kissed and made up.

Opie's been so quiet since he got re-elected. I'm glad he sees that Vicki would shake things up (if she hasn't been bought off).

Actually I had the pleasure of meeting Kate Brown at an event last year, and found her to be intelligent and at least at first brush a good level headed person at least she approached the civil union issue in an organized manner, and finally got those folks some action and a positive outcome, as opposed to the hysterical, clandestine approach of her counterparts the evil sisters on the Multnomah Council, she was one I intended to get the check book out for the next time since relocating to her district, that being said I got my checkbook out multiple times for Vicki in her run for governor and feel that she has the guts to be direct and honest about the problems. I wish they were not running against eachother, there are plenty of politicos that need replacing in this state, and both of these women would fit that bill.

Vicki is utterly fearless and she has more courage than any other person in Salem. She fought the Goldschmidt higher ed appointment face to face with Kulongoski and never backed down. Then she was a pariah with her own party until the full truth came out.

She could have mounted a great primary challenge to Kulongoski, but between "Gentle Ben" and John "first you say you will, and then you say you won't" Kitzhaber she was blocked out.

I have met with Vicki at least three times and I can tell all of you with absolute certainty that she gets it. She understands the needs of business and, more importantly, understands the damage that has been done to our state by the Goldschmidt cabal.

I will do everything I can to help Vicki.

Bernie Kosar? Is he still playing around?

Go Vicky!
