We love Brandon Roy
"As long as I'm on the court, I'm going to keep trying to hurt that lottery selection,'' he said. "I'm playing to win.''

True winners never lose on purpose. They can't stand the thought of losing...ever. There's a great qoute from the movie Patton along those lines in here somewhere...you know the one. Brandon Roy = Gen. Patton...I like that kind of leadership in a basketball player.

More tests for Aldridge ... I guess that is neither good nor bad news. Hoping for the best.
For me, one of the biggest disappointments this season is Joel. Anyone have good insight on why he didn't produce like he showed he could last year?

The answer to your Przybilla question can be summed up in two words: intrascrotal hematoma.
If Kevin Pritchard doesn't sign Ime Udoka to a one or two year deal for short money, he is crazy. Udoka's 06/07 salary: $744,000. That sounds like a lot, but it makes him the lowest paid regular on the team.
Dan "never plays" Dickau makes 3.5 times as much.
Martell "a 3-point specialist who can't really shoot 3-pointers all that well" Webster makes 4 times as much.
Darius "No smiles" Miles makes 10 times as much.
Gimme Ime over any of these guys.

I think Ime is gonna get paid plenty this Summer, IIRC he is a restricted FA, so the Blazers can match any offer he gets, the question will be if they have enough cap room if someone offers him 4 or 5 mil, which is likley.
The real key to this offseason is trading Randolph, which may require taking back a bad contract, remember when complaining about how much Dickau and LaFrentz make that taking their deals was the price for unloading Telfair on Boston and getting the extra 1st round pick to draft Roy. If KP can do something similar with Randolph and end up with 2 lottery picks in this loaded draft we should rename a street after him:-)

Ockley Green Middle School, represent!
Ime has a rare combination of talents: tenacious defender, plays within his limits his role, keeps his nose clean off the court, has a sister named "Mfon". Hometown boy, feel-good story. . .that's worth at least another million, right? Compare his stats with Travis Outlaw's and tell me who is the better player.
Given that he's been slaving in the developmental leagues for 10 years, and he's not getting any younger, he needs one big contract to set him up for his twilight years. This summer is his last chance for that.

Correction: slaving in the D-leagues and overseas for 6 or 7 years, post PSU.

Thanks for this Jack. It is indeed nice to see a Blazers player be so professional yet motivated. No pretense, no attitude, no blame games. First player in a long time. BRAVO! Wonderful time to be a Blazers fan - I suggest those of you doubters jump on the bandwagon next season before you look silly jumping on in another year when we make a deep playoff run.
Roy doesn't just talk, he does. Rasheed, JR, Damon..etc offered a barrage of non-stop mindless talking. Nice to see an educated man leading this time. More importantly, Brandon has a good head on his shoulders.
