We're ready with a projection on this one

It looks as though we can call a winner in the Oregon governor's race. According to the latest poll conducted by The Oregonian and KATU-TV, the Portland Old Boy Network has 85 percent of the vote, compared to 6 percent for Starrett, 1 percent each for Morley and Keating, and 7 percent undecided. A big win for the Arlington Club.

I still nourish the hope that you and your thoughtful readers will vote to defeat the candidate whose victory would encourage and support our disgraceful national government and our appalling state legislature.

Maybe my thoughtful readers. Not me.

Kari, over at BlueOregon reminds us that The Oregonian knew former Senator Bob Packwood was getting drunk and assaulting women pretty much every day in office. Daily.

So, The Big O covers for Packwood and yes, Goldschmidt, both scumbags whose positive work will always be overshadowed by creepy sex acts, some with a minor.

So, the scorecard for Oregonian coverups is: Demo 1, GOP 1.

So, we wonder what the Oregonian is covering up TODAY?

What cover-up, you say?

Well, I say we dig up "Mr. Karen Minnis" and do an official autopsy, what the heck, the GOP is digging up Kerry's corpse from 2004.

I'm a reader, but maybe not thoughtful, who thinks that if the O covers for Goldschmidt and Packwood, I bet they are covering for others as well. (Bernie? and Potter?)

I mean, lets be honest here. Bernie has slept around openly with Goldschmidt's wife while his personal driver/guard? And then with all his other 'personal friends' (other people's wives), and we are supposed to believe that there are no skeletons much worse in his closet?

And what about Potter? Are the rumors true about what dirt the Union has on him and his (fairly public) womanizing?

When the leaders set the local example (Pack/Gold) then the followers will play the game also.

I find it odd and somewhat telling that the number of letters to the editor favoring Kulo outnumbered Saxton's 4-to-1... and yet the poll shows it much closer.

Uh oh... Saxton's base might not be able to read the ballot, let alone coverage of the race. ;)

I think it is covering for Schrunk who has decided to let Bernie have it (as a distraction?). Naito, Schrunk, Bernie...a three ring circus. Theater of the Absurd. Unfortunately, we are being forced to hold season tickets.
