Sellwood Bridge is falling down, my fair ladies
I keep reading that Multnomah County is strapped for cash these days. So why are we spending even a nickel of county money on stuff like this?

As a math major, I support all numbers-related ballot measures. Please also vote yes on the state initiative to those remove pesky letters from our license plates.
Thank you.

Aren't they mandated to post such notices?

It certainly looks like "rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic" to me.

Just a guess, but modifying a voter-approved initiative probably requires another approval by the same voters. In other words, it may be that the county is simply following the law.

They can leave the section numbers as they are. How much does an election cost?

The "Sisters of Hawthorne" were bored.

Definitely a legal requirement. Kauffman's very good with the details of election law.

Yeah, but there's no requirement that everything in the county code be "easy to find." This is a waste of time and money.

Section 4.20, eh? I guess this is an unexpected result of medical marijuana.

It's same portion of the charter (term limits) that they unsuccessfully tried to repeal with a referral in '04.
They're whole "house" is in disarray and they want to hold a housecleaning election just to renumber an obscure portion of the charter?
Kinda fishy.
Vote no.
Even if there isn't a catch, what a waste of time and money.

Speaking of the Sellwood Bridge... what's the latest on that? Have they even hired engineers and designers yet for plans? Am I the only one who feels nervous driving over that thing?

MultCo has some kind of obsession with changing term limits. I suspect this charter amendment will somehow make it easier for the incumbentocracy and the appointed "reformers" to eliminate term limits in the future, so County Chairpersons like Bev Stein or Diane Linn could hold power forever. Leave it alone. Vote NO.

At least someone is paying attention to the election code ...
